The 2010 – 11 NBA betting online season has come and gone, and now only the playoffs remain. With the Kentucky Derby betting race set to commence tomorrow, we figured now was as good a time as any to look back at some of the NBA rookies in 2011. The future looks bright for several teams that have let their fans suffer for a long time.
Los Angeles Clippers – As one of the youngest teams in the entire NBA, the Clippers had several rookies in positions that most teams wouldn’t have wanted them in. The two rookies that really stood out for Los Angeles other team, was 2009 first overall pick forward Blake Griffin, and 2010 18th overall pick guard Eric Bledsoe. Despite the Clippers once again finishing with a losing record, the team took many steps in the right direction, as the team was able to win as many as eight games in a row at one point this season.
What’s more, Blake Griffin, a player who missed his entire rookie season, thus making his second year his rookie year, was able to win the rookie of the year award earlier this week. Griffin electrified fans both of the Clippers and opposing teams, with his mind numbing ability to slam dunk the ball. Meanwhile, Bledsoe provided the Clippers with a balanced scoring attack that allowed the team to stay in many games they otherwise would have been destroyed in. The plan currently, is for this current Clippers roster to grow together, and perhaps in two or three years contend for an NBA playoff spot.
Washington Wizards – Led by 2010 first overall pick John Wall, fans saw some progress with the Wizards in 2010 – 11 but mostly disaster. Wall along with JaVale McGee provide the Wizards with a power forward guard combo that in a few years, most teams will be wishing they had. The Wizards similar to the Clippers are still a few years away from becoming a really good team.
