College Basketball Odds – Bears Should Be Able To Win Big 12 Race

Published on Sunday, November 6, 2011

Some NFL fans may have been watching Baylor’s football team work their way up the Big 12 ranks with a team that has a couple of possible pro prospects in their squad. The hoops team is looking to keep pace with their gridiron counterparts as they aim to win their first conference title since 1950.

Baylor (+135 Big 12, +2800 national) is powered by the forward duo of Quincy Acy and Perry Jones, who could end up being the breakout player of the NCAA. He has the tools of a lottery pick, but the offense was geared towards guard LaceDarius Dunn. Kansas (+160 Big 12, +2200 national) may be overvalued by your bookie software as no team has to overcome more losses in the Big 12, and it may take the best coaching job of Bill Self’s career to get them past the Jayhawks to the semifinals of the Big 12 tournament. Texas A&M (+450, +5000), Missouri (+600, +8500), Texas (+725, +1850) and Oklahoma State (+900, +9000) will battle for position and the Tigers could be a national darkhorse with all five starters back, a rarity in the college game.

If Jones can blossom into the star everyone thinks he can be, the Bears could push for a Final Four spot and it’s there for the taking. Kansas, Kansas State and Texas have lost some important pieces, Texas A&M is an unknown and Missouri will be tough, but Baylor should be the play in your best online sportsbook.
