NCAA Basketball Betting – Wolverines, Tigers Clash In Maui

Published on Friday, November 18, 2011

There is no BetOnline scam: there is a meeting in Maui on Monday of two ranked teams as the Maui Invitational may be the biggest early-season hoops tournament in college basketball. Memphis will square off with Michigan, and both teams will look at this as a statement game.

Michigan Memphis Odds – Monday, 3:00 PM ET

The No.17 Wolverines (3-0) may have been looking ahead of Maui, but they held on for a 59-55 win at home over Western Illinois, and Michigan’s odds at your price per head services may depend on freshman guard Trey Burke, who had 14 points, five assists and four rebounds. Along with Tim Hardaway Jr, Michigan could have one of the best backcourts in the country, but the Wolverines also need someone to score inside.

The No.10 Tigers (1-0) opened their season with a 97-81 win over Belmont, shooting a blistering 58.6% from the field, hitting half of their 14 three-point attempts. The trio of Will Witherspoon, Will Barton and Joe Jackson combined to score 65 points, while Tarik Black had six points and four fouls. Memphis will need him to stay on the floor and out of foul trouble to give them an inside presence.

Memphis should be the favorites in their second meeting with the Wolverines as they won 73-72 at Michigan in 2003. The Tigers have five returning starters back, which can’t be underestimated and even though they’re young, Memphis was great in close games last season, so they aren’t easily rattled. The Tigers are basically an improved version of Michigan, so Memphis is the NCAA basketball betting play.
